By-Election is called: Vote Jay Shin for a stronger economy and a safer Burnaby South

BURNABY, BC – Jay Shin, candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in the electoral district of Burnaby South, issued the following statement:

“The voters of Burnaby South finally have a choice on who they want to represent them in Ottawa.  Over the course of this by-election, I will explain why the Conservative Party is the best option.

Burnaby South’s voters have a choice to tell the Liberals in Ottawa that they have failed in government.  The list of failures is lengthy – raising taxes and cutting tax credits, corruption and ethics failures, the purchase of a $4.5 billion pipeline they can’t build, the promotion of illegal immigration[1], a failed NAFTA renegotiation, and the list goes on and on.  Voters can decide whether they want to continue the high-tax, high-deficit policies of the Liberals, or they can vote to send a message to Ottawa that Liberal failures in government are unacceptable.  What have the Liberals done for you, the voters of Burnaby?

Jagmeet Singh and the NDP are the same.  They want to raise taxes and shut the economic engine that drives Canada forward.  They go easy on criminals and have actively endorsed illegal immigration[2] into our country.  While Jagmeet Singh has spent his pre-political career as a criminal defense lawyer keeping criminals out of jail, I have spent my legal career building Canadian businesses that create jobs and promote international trade.  If elected to Parliament, I will bring these skills to Ottawa.

I have strong roots in Burnaby.  I grew up in Burnaby, I have witnessed first-hand the growth of the city, and my parents continue to live there.  I know the challenges Burnaby faces.  I come from an immigrant family and we have all worked hard to make our living.  In my career as a business lawyer, I have represented clients that have brought in jobs and investment directly into Burnaby.  I have three daughters and I want them to grow up in a prosperous economy where people can get ahead.  I also want my daughters to live in a safe city, and instead, reckless Liberal policies have made our community unsafe.

Over the course of the next 47 days of this by-election, I will be unveiling why the voters should mark their ballots Conservative.  A Conservative vote is a message to tell the Liberals in Ottawa they have put Canada on the wrong track.  When I am elected to the House of Commons, I will be working hard for the voters, just like how I have worked hard in my career to bring in jobs and investment into Burnaby and Canada.”
